Spangels 1 Boars Sports Reserves 6

ECFA Sunday Junior Trophy Round One

Spangels made an early exit from the Essex County FA Junior Trophy today at the hands of Boars Sports Reserves. Injuries and absentees didn't help their cause both before and during this fixture and Spangels failed to hit top gear.

With Seymour unavailable, Ramsay stepped into the goalkeeping void, making his first start of the season following injury. Theobald was unfit and sorely missed in defence.

Things got under way poorly for Spangels, with Pritchard blinded in one eye after only 90 seconds. He struggled on manfully, but this disability did little for his already dismal control, passing, judgement, heading and positioning.

Lowe left the field of play after 20 minutes with a reoccurance of a hamstring strain picked up during last weeks game.

Boars were able to move into a three goal lead by half-time.

Leighton Williams, making his first start of the season, managed to notch late on, but by then Spangels had conceeded a further three and were down to ten men, with Sayer departing with a foot injury. Only Collis on the right offered a continued threat to the Boars defence.

Thank God, then, for a week off!!

Team; Ramsay, Lynch, Sayer, Pritchard, Tivey, Lowe (Underdown), Winsborough, Wilson, Collis, Whiteman (C), Williams (1).

Spangels MOM : Lee Collis

Who is Lee Collis, why was Bobby not playing?

Why did you guys not play the old fake drop kick and run it for a touch down .. works every time on John Madden 1992.

Think about it!!
