Boars Sports Reserves 7 Spangels 2

BNESL Division Three

Spangels were given another footballing lesson by Boars Sports Reserves today, following a 6-1 defeat against the same team two weeks ago. Despite a bright start, which saw Spangels exert the early pressure, too many mistakes led to goals at the wrong end.

Pritchard attempted to change things for this match, sending out a more defensive 4-5-1 formation, with Leighton Williams the lone striker. Unfortunately, this failed to seal up the midfield, which looked out of sorts.

After going down 2-0, having dominated the early play, Spangels pulled one back as Whiteman sent the "speedy" Williams through. He finished well and the teams confidence increased. However, a generous penalty given against Seymour the Spangels returning 'keeper meant Boars maintained their advantage and by half-time Spangels were 5-1 down.

The second half was a scrappy affair, with the referee evening up the penalty count following a foul on Williams. Ramsay coverted, but this failed to effect the overall result as a further two were leaked.

Team; Seymour, Lynch, Sayer, Pritchard (Irons), Theobald (C), Ramsay (1,pen) (Underdown), Collis, Winsborough, Williams (1), Whiteman, Wilson.

Spangels MOM : Leighton Williams

'Midfield out of sorts', 'MY HAIRY ARSE'! The score line is largely a reflection of the defensive frailty apparent on the particular day!!

interesting point!!!! I still believe the only down side was the fact we conceded more then we scored, but don't worry lads we still look set to achieve the greatest record..... that is the amount of goals conceded in one season, which I believe was 135 last season, so lets keep up the good work.

Tight up front and loose at the back!!!!
